Evie’s paranormal past keeps coming back to haunt her. A new director at the International Paranormal Containment Agency wants to drag her back to headquarters. The Dark Faerie Queen is torturing humans in her poisonous realm. And supernatural creatures keep insisting that Evie is the only one who can save them from a mysterious, perilous fate.

The clock is ticking on the entire paranormal world. And its fate rests solely in Evie’s hands.
So much for normal.

The last book in the Paranormalcy trilogy, Endlessly is damn near perfect, the best book in the series and a very enjoyable read. This novel satisfactorily answers a lot of questions the previous books didn’t and ties up all loose ends/storylines in a very cool way. Continue reading

A simple mission turned deadly.

Nineteen-year-old vampire Dawn has led a sheltered life within the confines of her father’s presidential headquarters. Upon being sent on a mission to revamp four goofy misfits into guardians of a peaceful little town of Angel Creek, Dawn believes that all her dreams have finally come true. What starts off as a simple task, turns into something unexpected, changing Dawn’s life forever and leading the action-loving, thrill-seeking vampire teen on a path of mystery, danger and intrigue.

When a human girl is kidnapped by a group of rogue vamps, Dawn discovers that there is more going on in Angel Creek than meets the eye. And it all connects to Ethan, the cute newcomer who seems too perfect to be true, Sebastian, the mysterious vampire with a turbulent past, and even Dawn herself. Dawn must not only succeed in revamping the troubled recruits, but must also prevent the vampire race from being overtaken by a malevolent villain who has a strange and obsessive fascination with her. As threat escalates, romance blooms, and ghosts from her past begin to surface, Dawn is sure of only one thing: her life will never be the same.

This is not your ordinary vampire book, no siree. In a day and age where pretty much 70% of any paranormal, UF, supernatural, etc novels are about vampires, I found ReVamped  to be lovely and a breath of fresh air. Continue reading

I hated this book! So much so in fact I couldn’t even finish it. See what boredom gets you? No un-read books in sight, but I knew I had a couple of ebooks on my computer so I thought to myself  “why not?” and this is the book I chose. Continue reading

Book Review: Vesper by Jeff Sampson

A compelling debut novel in which a teen girl must figure out who’s causing a rash of murders in her small town–and what’s causing her to turn into a monster. Ideal for fans of “Heroes” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Emily Webb is a geek. And she’s happy that way. Content hiding under hoodies and curling up to watch old horror flicks, she’s never been the kind of girl who sneaks out for midnight parties. And she’s definitely not the kind of girl who starts fights or flirts with other girls’ boyfriends. Until one night Emily finds herself doing exactly that . . . the same night one of her classmates—also named Emily—is found mysteriously murdered.

The thing is, Emily doesn’t know why she’s doing any of this. By day, she’s the same old boring Emily, but by night, she turns into a thrill seeker. With every nightfall, Emily gets wilder until it’s no longer just her personality that changes. Her body can do things it never could before: Emily is now strong, fast, and utterly fearless. And soon Emily realizes that she’s not just coming out of her shell . . . there’s something much bigger going on. Is she bewitched by the soul of the other, murdered Emily? Or is Emily Webb becoming something else entirely— something not human?

As Emily hunts for answers, she finds out that she’s not the only one this is happening to—some of her classmates are changing as well. Who is turning these teens into monsters—and how many people will they kill to get what they want?

I knew I wouldn’t love this, I read reviews before picking it up, but those damn references to Buffy and Heroes called out to me.

After reading the book I have to wonder if whoever wrote the description on GoodReads has ever, EVER seen one episode of Buffy? Or Heroes for that matter. Continue reading
